AUSTIN RAY HUFFMAN

Austin Ray Huffman is a third generation San Diego apartment professional with a career focused on multifamily investment sales, ownership, and development. As a founding member of the Zorbas Huffman Group at Marcus & Millichap and Institutional Property Advisors, Austin advises private investors, developers, family offices, and institutional owners on multifamily acquisitions and dispositions throughout San Diego County.

Since joining Marcus & Millichap in 2017, Austin has listed and closed more than $500 million in commercial real estate transactions. His experience spans newly constructed apartments, coastal properties, infill assets, development opportunities, distressed sales, privately owned apartment communities, and complex transactions involving 1031 exchange capital.

Austin's involvement in San Diego apartments began long before his professional career. His grandfather, Ray Huffman, developed hundreds of apartment buildings throughout San Diego, while his father, Steve Huffman, spent more than 30 years specializing in apartment brokerage and investment. Growing up around apartment ownership, development, and brokerage shaped Austin's understanding of multifamily real estate and ultimately led him to continue the family's involvement in the industry.

In addition to his brokerage career, Austin is actively involved in multifamily investment and development through Huffman Properties, Inc. His perspective as both an advisor and investor provides him with a practical understanding of how apartment properties are developed, operated, valued, and sold.

Austin is a graduate of Chapman University and is actively involved with the Urban Land Institute. He currently serves as Co-Chair of ULI San Diego-Tijuana's Young Leaders Group Partnership Forum Group 1.

Austin lives in Encinitas with his wife, Aubrey, and their two children, Hudson and Tatum. Outside of real estate, he enjoys spending time with his family, going to concerts, playing pickleball, and staying active in the San Diego community.

STEVE HUFFMAN

Steve Huffman has spent the last 35 years specializing in multifamily real estate. His extensive multifamily experience includes brokerage, ownership, management, and financing. Steve is the youngest son of San Diego’s most prolific apartment developer, the late Ray L. Huffman of Huffman Construction. Steve is proud to use his family’s background in construction, management, rehabilitation, financing and sale of apartment buildings. Over his brokerage career, he assisted clients on the successful closings of over 300 apartment escrows on properties ranging from 5 to 408 units throughout the western United States.

Based in San Diego, Huffman Properties Inc. is run by Steve and his son Austin. Steve is also the Co-Managing Partner of Atlas Management Group LLC in San Diego and the managing partner of KHF Holdings LLC.  Through all of these entities, Steve touches on all aspects of apartment ownership throughout multiple states, managing over 1,000 apartment units throughout Southern California, Oregon, Arizona, and Missouri. 

Steve resides in Carmel Valley with his wife Paige Huffman. In his free time, he enjoys to travel, snowboard, and play tennis and golf. He also volunteers as the president of two different Home Owners Associations and as a board member of Santa Fe Christian School in Solana Beach.
